tribal gathering
it seemed so simple in my head.
“let’s gather and do nothing”.
only when they were all there
did it dawn on me
this
was a revolution in itself,
to invite people into actual
empty space,
unstructured,
free.
i pick up the mike
when i can’t even hear myself think
and within an hour of arriving
their inner landscapes shift to
“bliss”
“communion”
“home”,
with not much effort at all,
the flow does its thing
as we gracefully let it
and all around, faces shine
like trees underlit by sunny water
within a couple mornings
hearts quietly crack in morning pods,
trickle with sweetness
my ear keeps picking up from cuddle piles in the grass
“since arriving
my mind is utterly quiet”
and i drink from this,
how rest blooms in our midst
like the chicory blossoms these days,
rising high scores of ruffled blue heads
and like master alchemists
turn the land into sea.
i walk away enchanted
by the magic that happens when we let it,
and pray we continue to share havens
to simply,
simply be.
