4 business tips for witches
Kitchen table notes to self
lately i’ve been studying our favourite theme of everyday magic.
how to bring things into matter. business, babe. to my surprise, it’s been fascinating.
i’m increasingly perceiving the world in terms of energy flux. i sense the worlds through these questions - does it repulse, attract, block, make sparks, cause friction, trap, redirect?…
the stories and shapes of things fade behind the encoded WHY, that moves us according to our nature.
this kinetic compass has been invaluable in sifting through the abundance of resources available to learn from.
here are my observations, on navigating these early days.
1 - know thyself
in my case, i need to keep reminding myself i am a projector - an observer, not a busy builder bee. busy is just not my nature.
conversely, one of my pitfalls is the gnawing voice that says “you should be contributing more” - and can incite me to sign up for stuff i feel i should do for the sake of the tribe.
i manifest not by full-frontal attack, but through wanting something with burning passion. I don’t grab. I burn. at some point, it mysteriously drops into my lap like a ripe fig.
etc, etc. that’s what’s in my bag of tricks.
no use trying to dig holes if i got given a butterfly net.
this clarity is crucial for my foundations to stand strong.
2 - follow guides that get you
i’ve learned the most from teachers aligned with my nature - it’s an energetic click, then in the details i later see we share similar values.
i was really moved by kerwin rae’s transmission (my inner warrior dude loves that shit), then realized i am completely unwilling to implement most of his techniques of hyper-posting. it just doesn’t feel true to the nature of my work - i tried, it sounds like nails on a chalkboard.
i am not everything - i’m definitely not a high-performing entrepreneur on a mission to scale ASAP. I googled “build a business as a projector” and instantly resonated with a very different strategy by dani gardner, taylor-made for my energy type.
my ruthless obsession in operating only with exact resonance has its perks : ie, i know a match when i see one.
my limitations dig a ridge for me to flow through.
i’ve learned so much from asia suler, a herbalist highly attuned to our cyclical nature. among many, one helpful reframe is that she sees business as a challenge partner - a spiritual ally who pulls us into the growth arena. relating to it as an entity has been pivotal, along with many tips that relate to my experience of manifesting, like “the less you do, the more happens”.
3 - get a herd in your pond
i give my time to inspiring muses and co-conspirators. people who share a same quality of vision, whatever the details - and, importantly, who dream in a similar scale.
it’s hard enough for me to burst from my comfort zone. if my peers are not also boldly reaching for the stars in their own skies, there’s semi-conscious friction, and i effectively give myself twice the work.
4 - reduce and wait
i find energy reacts strongly to a firm yes, or a firm no.
i keep my plate uncluttered to work on focus and quality. i try out stuff that defies my imagination. i minimize comparison to others’ paths. i fail and give myself time to digest, refine, grow.
i pace myself through the sometimes agonising wait for The Real Thing, to not rush into creating a bunch of noise just to make my ego calm down.
i wonder about your experiences. what has been pivotal in creating a channel to share your gifts? what are your biggest struggles and resources on that journey?
